Destiny's Atelier is an artist run space in Oslo (Norway), founded in 2016. The gallery is organized by artists Emilie de Rohan Birkeland, Ray Hegelbach, Melanie Kitti and writer and artist Nora Joung. The gallery was at first focusing on artists working with textile and materiality from a contemporary perspective. Any project, since then, has moved the conceptual framework into new and divergent directions. The 41 artists shown by Destiny’s Atelier were born from the 1950s to the 1990s, and represent 8 nationalities on 3 different continents. Out of them, 26 were female and 15 male artists. They have deliberately made sure to represent skilled artists with associations, not just across art fields and generations, but also in a broad demographic range. They see the need for an arena where younger artists can gain experience with the exhibition format in a non-commercial setting.
