GIANNI MANHATTAN has been founded in 2017 by Laura Windhager. The gallery currently represents six artists – Nils Alix-Tabeling, Matthieu Haberard, Sebastian Jefford, Barbara Kapusta, Zsófia Kerestez and Simon Mathers. The exhibitions and the program of the gallery express a shared concern for the world we live in: questions surrounding the environment, sexuality and gender, language and marginalisation, the nonlinearity of history. What combines all the artists’ practices is a need to find better metaphors, more openness and better questions (to quote Rebecca Solnit here).
