Maruša Sagadin's practice involves creating public sites for communal action, seeking to demonstrate the power of under-represented people. Sagadin's 2017 projects include 'B-GIRLS, GO!' a public sculpture for Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, Vienna; the newly commissioned artist bar at the Secession, Vienna; ‘Citizen Janes’, a temporary project with Syndicate at NADA New York; a dual exhibition with Tymek Borowski at Halle für Kunst und Medien, Graz; and 'She in Caps', a solo exhibition at Koenig2 in Vienna. 'Terra Cotta, Panna Cotta', Sagadin's first exhibition with Syndicate, took place 2016 in Cologne. Her book '©MMXV Maruša Sagadin', produced in collaboration with Christian Hoffelner and published by the Verlag für Moderne Kunst, was selected by Schönsten Bücher as Austria's most beautiful artist book in 2015.

Lina Lapelytė’s large-scale opera work ‘Sun and Sea’, created with Rugile Barzdziukaite and Vaiva Grainyte, was selected for the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 58th Biennale de Venezia in 2019. Previous versions were performed at the National Gallery in Vilnius, and Staatsschauspiel Dresden earlier in 2018. Also this past year, Lapelytė participated in the 13th Baltic Triennial, curated by Vincent Honoré, taking place in Vilnius, Riga, and Talinn; as well as 'Waiting for another coming' at Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. Other recent projects include Syndicate, Athens; Candy Shop – The Circus at FIAC, Paris, and MACBA, Barcelona; 1857, Oslo; Kunstraum, London; and a performance with Rhodri Davies at Studio Venezia (the French Pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale)(all 2017).
Founded in 2012 by JL Murtaugh as a London-based, artist-run exhibition series, Syndicate was re-formed in 2016 as an independent enterprise headquartered in Cologne. After a further twenty projects held throughout Europe and North America in the time since, it establishes its new Los Angeles bureau this autumn. Syndicate is a platform for exhibitions, events, and publications, focused on long-term artist collaborations and facilitating support for its international community.
